The food was fine and not particularly expensive - not by West End standards anyway.
There is certainly a real buzz to the place.
My only criticism [apart from the fact that the Chablis was a tad expensive] was that smoking appeared to be actively encouraged -evidenced by the number of ashtrays around.
Unfortunately our table was situated between two tables of dedicated smokers which marred an otherwise very pleasant experience.

I dine at the Ivy every 2-3 weeks and have never had a bad meal there. The food is always good, the ambience is excellent and the staff are very courteous and helpful. The service us usually top notch although on my most recent visit it was a little slower than usual which is why I've given four stars rather than five.

the steaks are delicious and they always come with bearnaise sauce!! they give you good bread and the menu contains a variety of different dishes(e.g. fish,steaks,salads,soups,chicken...)
