It wasn't my thing, but how often are you going to see such regally, lavishly decorated rooms? I'm glad I went. Though I'm not glad they didn't let us take pictures.
Impressive, majestic and an eloquent example of late baroque architecture.Makes Buckingham Palace(London) look like a townhouse.Said to be the largest palace in Europe.Houses an outstanding collection of old masters, object d'art, tapestries and armory.Great for the entire family. In front of the beautiful Plaza Oriente.

It was amazing! Nothing like it! A must see! If you go to Madrid and you don't look at this you haven't lived! So go there today!
I like the luxury and the huge rooms.Especially the plaza on which the kings of Spain were rewied the troops.Every chamber is decorated in different colour and the furniture accorted with this colour.
The Royal Palace is a must see. It was very interesting, from the art to the history to the culture. We picked the guided english tour which was very affordable and worth it.
You won't see many places like this in the world. So much history and stunning how much money and time went into this palace so many years ago. It's a must see if in Madrid. Just west of downtown.

Also, the palace can be close for official functions, so don't wait till the last day or you might be left out the gate.

My tour was in English, and cost about 10 Euro. I visited about 30 rooms, including the Throne Room of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia. It was just breathtaking to see the ...
