I visited the Salt Mine in May of 2004. I went because I had some free time I was not too enthuiastic initally. That was a huge mistake. This place was amazing the sculptures are just awesome do not forget your camera! They also have a great cheap gift shop. Don't buy salt artifacts in Krakow get them here at the source!

I am going back in a couple of weeks I liked it so much.

I visited it in 2000. It was awesome. like underground town. There is underground church, sport hall, cafe, sanatorium in salt mine. Also the town of Bochnia is nice - beautiful buildings, streets, basilica.

we like it all so much so we are going back in april again lots to see plus a lot of history there very very cheap as well excellent

This is a medieval salt mine in town of Wieliczka (hence most often referred to as Wieliczka mine) of tremendous historical significance. absolutely fantastic-can't wait to be in Bochnia again

i visited the salt mines in Feb 2004, at the time i did struggle the hundreds of steps to get down there because of joint problems i suffer with. however, i enjoyed it so much that i am planning a return to krakow and to visit the mines again in Summer 2005!
