We went a few weeks before Christmas so the entire area was quite festive. In front of the palace there was an ice skating rink w/a HUGE Christmas tree right in the middle. It was so worth the money (very reasonable). Music, everyone having fun, lights, hot cocoa, etc... The Red Light district,good eats & some great gift shops are just across the way so there's even more to do.
