After asking my girlfriend to marry me, the restaurant accomodated with perfect setting, great attentive service and delicious cuisine. Overall it was a wonderful experience that complimented the night. Certainly will go back and not just for special occasions.

Visited in August 07. The frame and the food are good. Very romantic if not crowed (but when?), then it becomes too noisy. Reservation needed.

The view from the Belhamel is possibly the best in Amsterdam. The interior is art deco from the ceiling down to the wainscoating and emanates a warm, rich atmosphere. Amsterdam....
Cuisine is perfect especially soups and wine.
Visited in March 2005, in a very cold,windy and snowing afternoon...
I think in summer time would be great to sit outside and watch the canal view
