A cross between a fantastic restaraunt and a museum. Would recommend the chefs choice surprise menu. Great home baked breads. interesting decorations, each room decorated differently, one with armor, one with delft tiles and even one with rembrandt original sketches. Would highly recommend this restaraunt

Loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/12/06
The d'Vijff Vlieghen (5 flies) was a wonderful dining experience. Although not known for their cuisine, the chef is able to incorporate traditional Dutch meals into updated works of art. I had a vegetarian savory waffle as the main course and it was tasty.
I loved the different rooms that are used for dining. The wait staff was a bit stuffy and the meal a bit pricey, but then it's Europe.

Quint essential Dutch
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/08/05
d'Vijff Vlieghen is one of our favorites and a must visit every time we are in Amsterdam. The ambiance is rustic and quint essential Dutch. Fairly quiet - its great for a business dinner or a romantic evening. The food is outstanding and the service generally good. Its not cheap but you get what you pay for. Enjoy!
