Piazza San Marco is the most visited place in Venice. Avoid the morning or the noon if you can. Try to go on late afternoon or early evening and enjoy a 6 euro coffee listening to live music. It's worth it!

We absolutely had a fantastic time..this is the best place to begin or end your visit to venice..there is SO much to see, wonderful places to eat, we took a water taxi to get around a little bit easier..we also went on a gondola ride which was awesome..i can't wait to go back, make sure you wear your walking shoes!

Fantastic! The square started a quick (5 hour) tour of Venice on a business trip. The architecture and setting was perfect. At night when it's almost deserted it is totally stunning.

Feeding the pigeons is a must do. Anywhere else I would NEVER do this but here..... Little kid will either LOVE it or HATE it. There are a bunch of cool shops and pizza is awesome!! Must see place!

The Piazza San Marco is a fascinating place. The architecture and history of the area is simply amazing. In the relatively small area there are so many things to see and do and experience. Be sure to visit the Doge's Palace and the prison including the Bridge of Sighs. Do not hurry through. Take the time to experience it.

There were like a million pigons everywhere. They sold food to give to the pigons and the views especialy at night were beautiful!!! Everyone was nice but there was a smell all throughout venice. But that's just the water and you get used to that. I would go back in a heartbeat if I could.
