First off it is difficult to find. Since the streets of Rome do not follow north-south, etc., and change from one name to the next at seemingly every corner, I was way off course to reach the Piazza. I was expecting this grand plaza, but all I saw was street vendors. The two fountains are ornate and wonderful but not really worth the hassle of finding the place.

Must be a new place, where the ambiance try to come better. A little taste of "Mont Martre" ? Next to this place, a lot of little bistros are waiting for you !

Almost like a carnival going in here. Get rid of all the vendors and restore the ambiance. Maybe add some photo/story boards along the perimeter and definitely more benches.

We just returned from Rome 3 weeks agao. Unfortunately our visit to Piazza Navone was disappointing since the fountain was boarede up under construction. We went in late afternoon and sodas in the square at a hefty price. Perhaps if we had come back at night, it would have been better.

The piazza is a town square where alot of merchant stalls are surrounded by cafes and restaurants. It's more fun at night when artists gather to draw portraits and caricatures. However, this is not one of the great attractions of Rome in a historical sense. It's fun to visit but not as interesting as alot of more significant places.

If you like to look at art for sale this is the place to go. The overall experience was good because there was a near-by gelato shop and we saw some beautiful artwork. Other than that there was not a whole lot to do or look at.

We liked the Fountain of the Four Rivers so much that we had lunch at a nearby sidewalk cafe. To our delight, a street performer picked that restaurant for his half hour entertainment. It was like having a floor show to go with our meal.

We ate a a great little cafe near the piazza, after wandering through all the artists stands and stuff. This area is definitely worth a visit.

You must have the Tartuffo at Tre Scalini!! Unbelieveable treat. We were at Piazza Navona in the morning, walking on our way from Campo di Fiori to Trevi Fountain, so we missed the the evening excitement.
