Wow, I will have to say that it was an awesome feeling to be standing in the very famous historical Colosseum. My husband went camera crazy. I will say that our tour wasn't that great and they cut off taking us upstairs. In total, the tour took 20 minutes. They did continue the tour across the street at the palace gardens. In all though, ...

Such an experience

The colliseum was great. The gladiators took pictures with us for free b.c we used our camera. They actually posed for 4 pictures with us. The horse and carriage people will try to rip you off, but you can avoid them. The sights were great. It was fun to walk around on our own without keeping up with a group and watching the clock.I would love to go back.

I went to Rome with my friends and lasted two weeks. We had lots of fun because we never stoped visiting the sites, we were always on the go. The most beautiful place to us was the Vatican. There were other interesting places that we enjoyed like the Castle San Angelo and lots of other amazing places that we visited.
You dont want to miss this when in Rome but...the experience we had there diminished the greatness of it. When we walked up, the "gladiators" out front offered to take pics with them and our family. Then they demanded 10 Euros for it! There will be tour guides who ask you to join their tour to avoid a wait in the regular line, then come ...

We went on the sunday morning 20/4/08 and the queues were huge, although much to our delight they went down very fast and in all I think we queued for max 30 minutes. It is well worth a visit for the €11 it is we spent at least a couple of hours there and it was coupled with the manifestation parade which only heightened the enjoyment more. ...
when we were approaching the collesseum we were gob smacked. the sheer size alone is breath taking. guided tour was fantastic. it would be foolish to go in on your own. did u know the camp nou(where barcelona play there soccer) is designed on the collesseum.
Truely a collossal structure, impressive not only for the history of the games that were held there, but for the engineering and design of the space. Amazing views of ancient Rome, hard to miss and impossible to forget. A definate must see while in Rome, any time of the year. Great to plan a day at the Foro Romano and Colosseo
