It's nice to see Trastevere as it is I believe older Rome but if you want to fit it in with everything else this is a great place with many restaurents to choose from.

We went there at night, and lots of people were out walking around. It's near the river and a good place for people watching, but other than that there's not a whole lot to see there.

We went to visit my daughter who is studying in Rome. She has an apartment in Trastevere, so we stayed in Trastevere to be near her for a few days. We ate at Dar Poeta, excellent pizza, best ever. I lived in Trastevere for 4 months and it was amazing. The main nightlife is in Campo di Fiori, where people from all over go to just hang out and drink. There is an amazing little bar called Jonathan's Angels very close bya nd if you ever get up there, check out the bathroom.

Trastevere is awesome! Maybe the best part of Rome. Being from athens and being used to places with a lot of people in small streets with little stores and restaurants I really enjoyed it. Access is easy and it's ideal for staying out late at night. If you have been to Plaka in Athens and you liked it, I'm sure you'll love Trastevere as well!

The best resturants are on the side streets in Trastevere. I was there for 5 nights. Every night was better than the last. The resturants open after 8:00pm so plan on eating late, it's worth it.
