We ordered the fried artichoke. When they brought it, they brought it with two other appetizers which we did not want. But we were charged anyhow, in a bait and switch method. The food is good, but not outstanding. The service was poor, and we felt like we had been had. This is a tourist trap. Avoid it. There are plenty of other lovely restaurants in the same area.

The memories still linger

I'm very well-traveled, and this restaurant rates right up there with my top 10 in my travels. Have their specialty, fried artichoke - absolutely splendid! Get a table in the front room to the right hand side of the restaurant. When it's a sunny day and they have the doors open to the street, it's perfect for people watching.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/07/06
We had lunch here, sitting at a nice table out on the street with a beautiful view of the Portico d'Ottavia. The food and service were wonderful. This was one of our two favorite dining experiences in Rome.

I could have eaten every meal at this restaurant while I was in Rome!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/06
The fried artichokes are worth a trip to Rome!!! They are delicious - the restaurant is famous for them. The fried cod was excellent also. Giggetto is a very large restaurant on the inside with tables on the sidewalk outside under an awning. Although the restaurant seats dozens of people, the service is excellent and the waiters are friendly, ...

The best of roman cuisine
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/22/05
i was in rome with my girl friend. on an evening we went for dinner to "Giggetto" an we both ate roman specialities. I reccomend the "Bucatini all'amatriciana" or the "Fettucine ai carciofi". This Pasta-Plates have a very excellent taste - comparable only with the Pasta-Plates of my mum :-)
