The food was excellent on every occasion we visited and the service was always very good.
Definitely recommended.

expesive beverages

The food was very good and fairly priced. However, all the other items which were not in the menu (i.e. water!) were extremely expensive: a caffé e latte 6 euros, and water was 4 euro per 1/2lt (in other restaurants it has been 2 euro per liter!). When the bill came we felt a little bit cheated. Please be careful with the costs of beverages!!

Great simple food in a relaxed atmosphere
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/08
Although living just an hour and a half away and cooking the same food in malta , this is my favourite place ever . Its just simple and good the way it should be !! and all those who knock the service ,, it's cause you dont understand ,, its not easy when serving 200 people at one go i bet you have more trouble at home serving 4 .But anyway i'm goin back again .
We ate there our first night in Rome at my sister's recommendation. Great food, service and atmosphere. Almost 20 people in our travel group found their way there and everyone enjoyed it! Hope to go back so I can enjoy Rome and of course, eat there again!
My wife and I found this place while idling around the Spanish Steps, after we had settled into our hotel after the long commute from the U.S. We were tired, hungry, and the dinner hour was just getting started. So the fact that this was our first meal in Italy may have had an effect, but we both agree this was our best meal in Italy, including ...

Great desserts

The food was veryt good, but the desserts were out of this world. The Profiteroles were topped with chocolate and the Tiramisu was fantastic.

won't be going back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/07
Wen't twice during our recent trip. Service was uneven at best both times (forgot our salads the 1st time, wine and some other side dishes the 2nd time). Kids liked their dishes so we went back. Pasta plates were ok.
What really soured me was the steak Fiorentine we ordered the 2nd time we went. Worst piece of beef I've ever had in ...
Whenever anyone mentions going to Rome, I always tell them to be sure to eat at the Ristorante Alla Rampa! We were there in 2001 and I don't even recall what exactly I liked the most about it, but it definitely left an impression we'll never forget. I mostly recall the Antipasta bar and freshly-made tiramisu. They brought the whole ...

Their specialty, the penne with gruyere and speck was the most AMAZING thing I have ever had! We went three times while we were in Rome. Most amazing food, great people. Great experience!

Fabulous antipasti
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/07
While on a train to Pompeii, an American travelling to Naples told us that he had been told about this restaunant but could not go. We went instead. it was the most lovely spread of antipasti, fresh, delicious, and bountiful. We made a meal of antipasti and dessert.
We are going back to Rome in 6 weeks and it is the first restaurant we will go to.
