First of all, the ambiance on this place is good, one of the wait staff despite her inexperience was pleasant but another wait staff appears to be very confrontational when critiqued about the way the food was served.

As someone who lives in Mexico City I can assure you won’t find a better, more authentic Mexican restaurant. There was a great choice of tasty dishes for the eight of my friends to chose from. The only thing I didn’t like about the night was the weather outside but I’m back to Mexico tomorrow for that!

I am a Texan and I can assure you that no Corkian is being fooled here! Great wait staff, authentic tasting food.....I dont have to go back to Texas nearly as often to get good Mexican food. I am not sure what the other writers consider Mexican food but I'll bet they've never even been there! LOL Try it...you'll like it!
The fact that every time I go there its crowded should tell you that something special is going on there!

The food was quite awful, it took too long to come out and some of the food was cold when we got. Our waitress was very nice, but she still couldn't make up for the obvious faults.

Mexico is a long way from Cork. Thus it is easy to cheat the good-faith Corkonian into believing that Cafe Mexicana is a decent Mexican restaurant.

Fantastic...what a find a truely original cuisine not blanded out by commercialism.Top notch service and fast turn around by keen and enthusiastic staff.Price reasonable but adviseable to book to avoid disappointment.
Jalepeno loaded nachos were fantastic. I hope to revisit.

Service was slow, waitresses too busy chatting to each other than serving us. One called our son a little brat, despite us spending 50 euros on a lunch in an empty restaurant.
We won't be going back.

This is a great restaurant. The food is delicious, especially the chicken fajitas. The margaritas are expensive, but delicious. To americans, it's perhaps not the taste of mexican that their used to, but go there with an open mind. It really is a nice place :) Yes I know it's a bit pricey, but most restaurants in Ireland are.
