I AM HUNGARIANI loved how i fealt like i had actually lived in the 1944 tragedy. I loved the beautiful architecture. Jewish Synagogue and Museum an emotional roller coasterThe Synagogue and Jewish Museum of Budapest will mean different things to different people. You may wish to visit here for the architecture and history, this alone would be well worth the admission. But for many ( myself included ) it's an emotional roller coaster filled with joy, memories, pain, and in 1944-tragidy.

#1 undiscovered tourist attraction in BudapestThe synogogue, I believe, is the largest in Europe, and it's the most beautiful one I've seen yet. Fortunately, not too many travelers visit it, so it's not touristy in the least bit. Admission is free, although there might be a charge to get into the adjacent museum.6 of 6 Yahoo! Great SynagogueI have never been to a synagogue before and this was quite a humbling experience knowing all that went on during World War II in Hungary and the surrounding areas. A Must See in BudapestAfter riding past the Great Synagogue several times, it was a great joy to get to tour it on my 9th day in Budapest. The admission is reasonable and the ability to have an English language tour by a very knowledgeable guide made the experience even better.
