Visiting the Benaki Museum about 30 years ago, was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had. The collection of widows' tear bottles is enlightning and marvelous. The museum had its inception because a man loved to collect art wherever he went....and when he died his many different collections were gathered to form the museum...which might also have been his home.
