The Semperoper is my favourite opera house, in a superb setting. The interior is magnificent. Its orchestra - the Dresden Staatskapelle - is one of the oldest in the world (1548). Dresden has some of the richest musical associations of any city in the world - including Wagner, Richard Strauss, Weber, J S Bach and Schuetz.
