everyone needs to see a museum like this to see the impact of WWII. we were in the museum for one hour and a half and could have stayed longer but was on a time frame.
This was a great museum charting WWII from the eyes of Cologne. Even if you know what happened, it's a totally different experience to see it broken down by one city's experience and various individuals. Same goes for the prison. Also, there was a terrific audio guide available in English, French ...
This was very chilling and hard for me to handle. My friend that took me was a German and he even cried. It is one of those things that you only read about but never believe it usless you see it for yourself, I SAW IT!! God bless those who suffered such pain and broken hearts. If anyone ever had a doubt this will cure you.

Shocking
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/05
This museum was not for the weak at heart, and some German is needed to understand. However, reading the letters in the basement that was used as a jail was just shocking, these people wrote these letters to their families on the walls using whatever they had, sometimes even their fingernails. It is an excellent museum that preserved how the Nazis treated their prisoners.
