stop and eat at many of the reataurants on this street to enjoy the views//// remember they fight for your attendance in Paris... so dont be alarmed if they come up to you and pull up in for lunch or dinner.
And take a picture of yourself with the Arc de Triomphe! It is perfectly legal, just stop in the middle of the zebra cross. It's a bit scary though, when some cars dashing through your sides. Oh, and some boutiques around Champs-Elysees are closed on Sundays, particularly the more expensive and luxurious brands like Chanel, Gucci and Dior.

It looks awesome! Can't wait to acually GO!! :)I wonder how they built it... Ihope I find out soon!! Go there and tell me (when you get back). No, let me find out for myself!!
Nice around christmas with all the light, trees and decorations etc. But rather too touristy in my opinion. Bastille is way more cosy and rich in terms of culture and arts. But for luxury shopping you have to stop by at Champs-Elysees.
To stroll down the Avenue des Champs-Elysees is to fall in love with Paris. My then 15 year old son & I walked into a boulangerie de pain where we purchased a loaf of antiquit`e rustique. We both agreed it was the best bread we had ever eaten. So, there we were, strolling down one of the most photographed avenues in the world, tearing off chunks of delicious bread as we viewed the scenery!
it is no wonder to me why the champs-elysees is the most famous avenue in the world. while walking on it with my husband i felt almost breathless. the french have a wonderful eye for the aesthetic. the champs is grand & spacious & lined with beautiful stores, restaurants & nightlife. to top it all off it is capped at the end by the majestic arc du triomphe. when in paris a stroll down the champs-elysees is a MUST!
The Avenue des Champs-Elyees was absolutely beautiful. There were so many stores to visit, places to eat, and just take all kinds of pictures. Our hotel was right off this street, so we had a wonderful time during our stay. The bus tours were located on this street so you did not have to waste time trying to walk and see everything. Beautiful place to visit!
Unfortunately it has gotten too commercial and touristy. In 1967, it was the ultimate boulevard. Oh well, it still is, especially at night, it is magical. Can't wait to go back to Paris.
The Champs-Elysees is quite beautiful, with an ample supply of French clothing and souvenir shops. It gives you a real feel for Parisian way of life. J'adore la Paris. ;-)
