Because of the royal atmosphere and the richness of the French history. The audio guide was helpful, but I stopped listening to it after a while, because it would take quite a while to finish each and every one of the objects.
THE PROS: 1. The Chateau is kept in very good shape. Much of the artwork has been preserved as well as the gorgeous chandeliers. 2. You have the opportunity to take pictures or video anywhere in the Chateau, which is very fortunate for avid scrapbookers like me. The sheer decoration and intricacy of the Chateau will stick with you.
I liked taking the guided tour around the Palace. I learned a lot about "Royal Life" in Versailles. Had a lot of fun. It was an excellent side trip outside of Paris. Anyone of any age would enjoy it, but infants and toddlers would have to be kept under a watchful eye so they wouldn't touch fragile objects.
wow i loved it!!! i think it was the best thing ive ever done!! i rele think that you should go there!!! ud have a blast!!! so go..ull have a GREAT time!!!!
The Palace of Versailles was my absolute favorite thing to see in Europe (I've been to Italy and Switzerland too). It was nice to see the countryside and get away from all the craziness and noise that Paris has. There are so many rooms and they are all decorated with gold and paintings. You can get in with the museum pass but the audio guide ...
this was a fantastic experience for me and my 11 year old godchild.the beauty in and out was awesome. the history was excellent i was very honored to be able to visit a place like this and my sara was mesmerized by the looks and history she used when she returned back to school .now 2 years later and and new 11 year old godchild im going again ...
I felt this to be a very big part of my trip to France, though there is not alot to see, it's a very big place where you can spend a few hours and enjoy the history. Spend time in the gardens and have a French hot dog they are very good. Remember to buy a museum pass, they come in handy if your going to several museums, and you get in faster, my wait was less then 3 minutes. Go and enjoy this small little hunting lodge.
Too crowded and expensive. You need to pay to get in different parts of the palace. There's not much to see. There are no descriptions about their display at all. Do your research well if you do go. I would rather spend the time visiting louve. It is away from the city. Unless you have 3 days or more, don't waste time in Versailles. It may not be that bad, but other places in Paris are too good compare to Versailles.
