We always look for the best chef in the place that we travel to. Taillevent has a spectacular ambience and service but our dinner on 04/06 was TASTELESS, the dishes looked very nice but no FLAVORS . WE eat crab and I looked for the "can"we ordered St. john and again the "chef flavors"were not there. But because this restaurant ...

Amazing experienced at Taillevent restaurant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/08/08
Taillevent is a wonderful restaurant it ranks as Paris's outstanding all-around restaurant, challenged only by Lucas-Carton and Pierre Gagnaire. It's in a grand 19th-century town house off the Champs-Elysées, with paneled rooms and crystal chandeliers. The place is small, which permits the owner to give personal attention to every ...

Very good but not the top
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/06/08
This place is another world in the moment you'll step inside. Here is what you can expect:
Pros: + Nice, friendly atmosphere + Very professional service (but quite unpersonal) + Food is great, but definitely not unforgettable! Many countryside french restaurants is probably better + Nice interior, very comfortable + Many fantastic wines ...

once in a lifetime - go for a 3 hour lunch. My estimate is that this is a top 12 restaurant in all of France. The Chef has moved recently to Le Cing at the 4 Seasons - which is my other favorite restaurant.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/01/08
Can't get in without booking 6 months in advance. I thought lunch was a great idea if you're vacationing -- took from 12:30 to 3:45 - about 7 courses and about $370. for 2 and worth every single cent -- go -- do it -- Have dinner at Le Cing in the 4 Seasons George V another nite (about $550 for 2) and unforgettable - not a rip-oof -- rather a memory of a lifetime - really -
Without a doubt Taillevent is the best restaurant in the world. The amazing surroundings, the impressive service (never too much, always correct) and of course the food! Having been lucky enough to have dinner there several times over numerous trips to Paris I have to admit it is an experience that remains with you well after the event. The ...

A Thanksgiving Dinner to be Thankful For
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/09/07
My wife and I escaped a New York City Thanksgiving for a week in Paris. Our destination was secret, even my own mother had no idea where we'd gone.
Among our plans was Thanksgiving dinner at Taillevent on what was also my wife's birthday. We were greeted inside the restaurant's door by Jean-Marie Ancher, who exudes easy grace of ...
Outstanding food and service. One of our great dining experiences, but of course bring lots of money. We were only able to get a reservation for lunch, but if you try to book a few months in advance you might get a dinner time.

La Cuisine Francais
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/07
Without question - one of the 5 great meals of my life. The dedication to a hybrid of 70% classique (a la Escoffier as an anlagous aside) mixed beautifully with a contemporary 'take' on adventure.
Absolutely first-class and absolutely delicious . . . You must try it once (or many times if you can afford $700. for two often at lunch.)

Simply The Best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/07
Jean Claude Vrinat must be the most gracious and attentive restaurateur in the world!
My wife and I have dined at Taillevent every year for several years, and it only gets better each time.
Chef Alain Soliveres' cooking is imaginative, yet classic, and maitre d' Jean Marie Ancher is friendly, affable, and never misses a detail.
We feel privileged every time we have an opportunity to dine at Taillevent. Not to be missed!
