  • Classic Taste and Feel...Great Service
    By James, 10/26/08
This is one of the few places we found in Paris that left us truly wanting to return. It's the one I think about whenever I'm planning to find a French restaurant in another country.

When next in Paris, it is the first place I'll go. There are no reservations.

  • Last authentic place in paris
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/18/08
in this very touristic but beautiful area, this place is still authentic, independant and owned by the same family for over 60 years. Excellent traditionnal food for that price, fun old fashion waiters, wonderful terrasse... A poetic and romantic " out of time" brasserie, nothing has changed here since a hundred years except for credit cards that are accepted!

Do not go there unless you want to try the classic arrogance and boorishness of (some) lackeys! Terrible experience, especially after many visits to Paris, where all the waiters I had met were most friendly. Two waiters were unbelievably rude. People should know about this place and avoid it.

  • Best Brasserie for the money
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/20/06
After spending quite some time working our way from Sainte-Chapelle to Notre Dame, we crossed the little bridge to find Brasserie de l'Isle St-Louis on the left, at the foot of the bridge. What a find! Great Coq au Vin, delicious Cassoulet, nice, reasonably priced Brouilly, mango sorbet that tasted more like mango than mangoes and a terrific gateau, all for just over 60Euros! Can't wait to go back.
