We dined at Tour d'Argent during the Vietnam War and were seated next to the peace negotiating team for North Vietnam. Their table seating about 10 was dissatisfied with the meager size of the caviar bowls and Madam Nu had them deliver the caviar in a hugh serving bowl! At the time we couldn't help but wonder about the starving people in ...

The Parisian Restaurant
By Mike P, 03/27/08
For any visitor to Paris lunch at Tour d'Argent is the experience of a lifetime. The view of the Isle d'City & Notre Dame is breathtaking. You will never wonder - not even for a monment - if you are anywhere except the very heart of Paris. Yes, the food is wonderful. What to order? Duck, duck and more duck. Don't miss this historic eatry.

Friendly and worth it.
By Mike Kennedy, 03/07/07
I took my wife for her birthday, plus our daughter and two teenaged cousins, last summer. The waiters were extremely friendly, taking the girls over to another window to see the light show on the Eiffel Tower. The wines were excellent and the food was very good. I will have something other than the duck next time, which will be my wife's next ...

Amazing
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 01/27/07
Whatever critics may see (Sometimes I wonder where they go for dinner) it remains one of the most exceptionnal restaurants in the world. The view is great of course but I was personnally impressed by the food and even more the wine selection. They have an English Sommelier, his name is David Ridgway!

the food there was amazing, the service could not have been better, and i especially loved the deserts! i loved le tour d'argent, and i can't wait to go back! i would recommend it to anyone!
I can't help but be awed by the history of the place - going back to the times of Cafe Anglais. The view from the dining room is also superb, overlooking the Seine and Notre Dame.
The wine cellar, with its 500,000 btl collection, is enough to floor most people. The wine list looked like a volume out of an encyclopedia even 10 years ago, ...

A Gourmand's Dream
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 04/04/06
Everything about "La Tour" is top notch. Outstanding food, excellent service, wonderful views (go at sunset if you can). Those who wrote negative reviews clearly wouldn't recognize a world class restaurant if they trippd over it, and would have been better suited eating at Hamburger Quick. Yes, it is pricey, but no more so than any other world class restaurant of similar stature. Well worth the visit!

Prices beyond belief!
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 09/25/05
Enter this restaurant and feel like you are royalty. The surrounding are beautiful, service top-notch,but I found the food overpriced, and my soup and fish arrived cold at the table. Not to mention that that 1/2 cup cost 50euro!!
Glad I can say I ate there, my companions loved their duck. But I had way better meals everywhere else in Paris.

Unique Experience
By Dan Visnick, 06/28/05
An evening at la Tour d'Argent is more than just a dining experinece. Originally founded in 1582, it's a walk through history, a place to catch one of the best restaurant views around, and an opportunity to taste some of the best wines in the world.
The food is good, albeit overpriced, and you could do as well at top restaurants ...
