Made reservations for lunch via fax a month in advance. When in paris called the same day of the reservation to confirm. Was told that there was no sign of my reservation and they were fully booked! I asked the girl if they could track a fax, since many faxes create a journal but she told me this was not possible! The girl was very apologetic ...

Over priced, over rated

Food not quite up to one-star status and service indifferent. View is really not that spectacular either. Dinner for four with wine was $1000.

Julse Verne, Paris
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 03/17/08
We just came back from our lunch at the Jules Verne. I so wanted to love this experience but..... Upon entering the dining room the bad 1970's decor is over whelming. Our party of 4 was seated at an oval table for 6-8 people, making conversation akward. we had booked three months in advance so I'm not sure why this happened. We made the ...

2nd time not the charm
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 03/03/05
This was my 2nd visit & I was looking forward to the same kind of wonderful experience I had in 2/03. The service was lack luster, food was good but presented with no grandure. Took away from the experience. When you are paying a grand for dinner for 4 you should get all the bells & whistles, not just good food. Good food you can find in most Paris eateries.
We had a table by the window, facing the Trocadero, on a snowy winter night. The quality of the cuisine was fairly good, but let's face it, people come for the view and not the food.
As the evening progressed, the snow fall got heavier, and slowly it became a blanket of white outside. We weren't able to see anything except the faint lights from the Trocadero coming through the white veil of snow. It was an incredibly romantic sight.

Jules Verne ... the magic lives
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 11/30/04
Having been forewarned of the expense of dinner I had great expectations of a gastronomic fantasy. This was one of the few occasions in my life that my expectations were met if not surpassed. I have read many reports filled by acclaimed food editors who were disappointed by this restaurant. I can only suggest that their reports might have been ...

What a treat
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 06/19/07
We went to Paris last summer to introduce France to our grandaughters. The views were spectacular, dinner divine and our girls loved it. They dressed up and felt very elegant. Expensive but well worth it to celebrate coming of age.
