Great ambiance and friendly staff, despite the hectic circumstances. The place is really crowded night after night, reservation is recommended. The main course we had was a bit disappointing though (overcooked entrecote), but the atmosphere makes it worth anyway. Admire the matronne, live as well as her beautiful big picture on the wall upstairs. I would definitely recommend the place, but advise to take another main course than I did.

Chez Paul was one of the classiest restaurants my husband and I, James, have ever been to. It was fantastic! The desserts melted in our mouths, but not o quickly we didn't get a full blast of the flavour! our favourite one was the banana split-resemblance, long and thin. It had lots of cream, and was delicious. Thankyou Chez Paul!

I return often to Chez Paul as it is one of Paris most honest restaurants: the cuisine is still very French - and excellent, the staff is half way efficient and sometimes a bit rough (but what did we expect) and prices are - given the situation of this restaurant at the corner of rue de Lappe still good value.
