We went on the recommendation of our Hotel's concierge. We had the menu degustation since only one of us drinks alcohol and there were only two fairly ordinary half bottles on the list and the menu came with appropriate wines. Unfortunately, the sauces were inadequately reduced, there was a rather odd lobster and foie gras ravioli; and the ...

Great, but...

Great food, great service, but half the customers were wearing jeans! Not what we are used to with Michelin-starred restaurants. This restaurant should enforce a dress code.

Avoid at all costs!

This place has it all--terrible food, rude service, high prices. One of us ordered lamb, but what arrived was unrecognizable. Another ordered tuna, which looked liked overcooked shoe.
How did Relais Louis XIII make it into the Red Guide?

A Paris Gem
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/04/04
Relais Louis X111 is a gem of a restaurant. I have dined there twice, but am well aquanted with the superb Cuisine of Owner/chef Manuel Martinez. For many years he was the master chef of The Tour d'Argent before opening his own establishement, and he brought with him all of his skills to his Relais Louis X111. Try the Canard-( duck )

Best Dining experience in Paris
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/04
We have visited Louis XIII several times. Each time the service, ambiance, and food were outstanding. We even invited 14 guests from the US to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday there. The chef created a special menu that was outstanding. The staff was excellent and the evening was one of the most memorable evenings of our lives.
