  • A toast! A toast!
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 04/14/08
Above all the beer. There are some eight or nine lagers brewed next to the restaurant. The pale lager is slightly cloudy and gorgeous. The dark one is heavenly. Then there are fascinating herbal and fruit beers. A green nettle beer is sometimes available.

One oddity to try is "Samp", pronounced SHAMP. It comes looking like a champagne ...

Excellent choice of Beer's,Light or Dark and unfiltered also fruit beer's
On the number of occasion's we visited we found it difficult to get a table immediately(we then had to share with other diner's) but if you are prepared to wait then it will be well worth it.

  • Quality Beer
    By Lionel L, 06/18/07
This place is simply the heaven for people who likes to drink good beer! The only worry is that you might have to wait for a empty seat. The food is good as well.

  • Great Place...
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 03/15/07
I am an American living and working in Prague. I work right across the street and go there all the time. Great beer. Its also very Czech but a good mixture of people. They have a smoking and nonsmoking section, and the food is good if your in to "man food". Further it is cheap...$5 dollars for a good meal.

  • Prague Rarity -- A Nonsmoking Section!
    By Susan Z, 12/28/06
Okay, besides the wonderfulness of the nonsmoking section, the REAL story is the beer. As another reviewer said, don't be put off by the color or the name: TRY THE NETTLE BEER. Coffee flavor is also a definite must-try. Personally, I thought the banana flavor was dreadful, but different strokes, and all that.

    For those less ...

  • You will definitely be back!
    By natalyalobko, 10/02/06
One of the best experiences in Prague when my husband and I visited Pivovarski Dum. Warm greeting at the door. Menues in any language you wish. Food and beer are absolutely the greatest, and it is extremely cheap. (Ex. After having wonderful meals, coffees and splitting 9 beers, the final bill with tip was less than $25). We went back 3 times while being in Prague for 2 weeks. Just take a cab or a tram to 15 Lipova and enjoy.

  • Best Meal in Prague
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 09/06/06
Definitely the best meal we had in Prague. Little bit of a walk from the Old Town where we stayed, but well worth it for the dark beer and traditional czech food which is very reasonably priced. Try the grilled trout and boiled potatoes.

I can see why they take bookings now, although we just managed to squeeze in on a table.

    Miss it at your peril!!
