the people are very warm and the city is very comfortable and welcoming. almost everything is within walking distance and compared to most western european cities things are reasonably priced
The Grote Market is truely full of small architectural details that are a joy to seek out and photograph... Good for watching people, testing the taste of the crispy pomme frites with mayonaise, and mussels in herbed wine broth nearby. But if you've come this far, and think this is beautiful, want more, and in a big way, take the train 1 hour ...
It's worth a good walk around and even take in a drink or two at the local bars/restaurants, although you will pay more than the norm-however you are on holiday!!
I like the place though it is almost crowded everyday, you can find chocolates which is the specialty of Belgian. Nothing to worry if you are hungry and thirsty there are restaurants around the place. And alot of interesting things to see.

overestimated

A very overestimated place! Yes if you are coming for the first time to Brussels it is beautifull. But you have seen it in half an hour.
