  • Cafe Central is a MUST see

    No visit to Wien is complete without a visit to Cafe Central near Herrengasse. Though Sperl's may be the oldest coffee shop, Cafe Central has the unparalled atmosphere with its vaulted ceilings, konditeri and polite yet unobtrusive waiters.

  • A bit expensive, but worth the extra

    I have visited the Central over 50 times and have found the Coffee, food, Cakes and atmosphere excellent. The waiters (der Ober) are attentive and as with most Viennese Cafes, very professional. The prices are a bit more than other Cafes, but in the evening there is live music with the piano, violin and double bass. Due to its reputation, the ...
