Place is nicely done and very popular, but we still managed to get a table on friday 21st August, at 9:00pm, in just a few minutes.
The food was excellent and very filling...the figlmuller schnitzel is by far the largest I have ever seen..and was so very tasty..just like the potato salad.
I highly recommend a visit.

A not-so-little piece of Vienna
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/14/08
Did some early research so, even though the restaurant is tucked in an alley way - it wasn't too hard to find. It was pretty busy when my brother and I arrived, but we were soon seated at a bench booth with four others. This just enhanced our meal! We met a great couple from California AND two young travellers from Japan at the same time. Just ...

Good, with average service, a bit of expensive for what is offering, not really a must, try the LinderCeller nearby, 50m after the zanoni & zanoni.

This place in da bom! It has exellant sevice and the people there are always kind. Some people say 'Just like mom used to make' I say "I wish mom made like that!"
the atmosphere was great, but the lines to get in were long. food was definately worth the wait. It was very "touristy" but then we were tourists!! It was the best wiener schnitzel we had in austria
This is THE Wiener Schnitzel Haus of Vienna, but the REAL house specialty is their "Geroestete Leber." In English - Veal Liver with onions and garlic. It is a must for me to stop in every time I am in this fabulous city.
The original restaurant is in an alley off of Wollzeile in the 1st District. Should it be full, just go around the ...

Terrible service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/20/06
We arrived at the restaurant at 6.15 and were told we would have to wait for at table which was fine and seemed to be the norm and at the time there was no one ahead of us. However at 7.00 we were still waiting and a number of people arrived in the meantime and were given tables who obviously knew the maitre'd as they had no reservations. ...
Went there last week while staying in Vienna. Was combination of guide book and friend's recommendation. It was crowded but little bit of waiting is worthy. I was told that Austrian service can be slow and they take their time. I was so impressed by the wine but the food and the salad were so so so so so good and I am craving it again. overall, every thing I tasted in Vienna was amazing. this place is worthy of visiting.

We could go back every day!

Despite what we have read about the crowds, we had no trouble finding a table for two in the old restaurant. Note that we visited Vienna between Christmas and New Year, when it was packed with tourists. The service was quick and efficient and the schnitzel was exquisite and really, really huge. We also tried the potato salad and the suberb red wine (we had one litre each). All in all, a great experience.
