I agree that the food is quite good but not " amazing" for the price. As far as the view, ambiance, and employees it'd be worth the price just to be able to hang out and have drinks. I've been there about 10 times over the years. The International orchid show is held in mid March every year so I combine that and Ram Luna as an ...

This restaurant is high in the mountains above the valley with a panoramic view of San Jose, especially startling at night. The taxi ride up is fairly pricey by Costa Rican standards but most drivers will wait until after you are finished with dinner to take you back to town at no extra charge. The restaurant is nice inside and the wait staff is an ...
Since we were traveling with a group of 20 people we decided to meet up in San Jose and stay the night before moving on to our next destination. Ram Luna seemed like the perfect place to celebrate our arrival to Costa Rica and we were right! The restaurant is very cool and set up to accommodate large groups of people. The food on the buffet was not ...

This place is amazing, I will most definitely be back!
The service is awesome... try and have Ronnie be your server... he's the best! I don't speak Spanish and he interpreted the menu for me and helped me make a great selection on appetizers, entree and dessert!
Love this place!

What a View
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/09/07
I had read all the reviews on Ram luna and asked my girlfirend (tica) to make a reservation as I would back in town on Business for the weekend. THe drive up was a little too long for me and it was torrential rain But the moment we walked into the restaurant I knew we had found a gem The overall dinning is beautiful and we were lead to table by ...
My girlfriend (a Tica) suggested this place for our last dinner before I had to go to the USA for 3 weeks. I was shocked, to say the least. I drove up this seemingly never-ending road up the side of this mountain, then entered through an understated gate that took us to a well guarded parking lot. There is a grand stairway leading from the ...
I enjoyed this place a lot. The best view of San Jose Valley. We enjoyed the artists, the food and the service. If you go to San José you have to visit Ram Luna. If are in your honey moon or you are trying to get the love of someone special bring her/his to this magical place.

Favorite Restaurant on Earth!

After a long twisty ride up the mountain, with hints at how great the view might be, we arrived at a compound that was immaculate. We took pictures by the beautiful waterfall just outside the entry. Inside was gorgeous and the host and wait staff were of course tuanis (too nice). They even lit the fireplace when they noticed my girl was cold. The ...

Wonderful time and spectacular view.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/28/06
On our first visit to Costa Rica we wished to go some place very special on my wife's birthday. Ram Luna has a nice buffet every Wednesday. This was our choice. We arrived just at sunset and enjoyed a spectacular view of San Jose. Bring your camera and pray for a clear night. The ride up, and down the mountain, is something else since Costa ...

One of the highlights of our trip!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/04/06
Based on recommendations here, we decided to go to Ram Luna on our first night in Costa Rica, and it was a spectacular beginning to our trip! The view of San Jose at night is breathtaking; the food was a delicious introduction to Costa Rican dishes (be sure to try the beet and potato salad); and the folkloric dances were skillfully and ...
