Historically this is one of the most important places in the Americas as it denotes Spain's colonization practice of combining the "cross and sword." This long serving institution is in need of upkeep and some tourist information would not be out of the question.

What a remarkable landmark and jewel of the church. Its a peaceful, beautiful, stimulating place where the human just for a second almost can sense the presence of God.
A sturdy testimony to the reverent architecture of the day and the beauty of European influence. Together with the sparkle of the Caribbean make this place a really wonderful religious place to visit in Santo Domingo.

I don't know because I have not been there but from the pictures it lookes real nice!Everyone has agreed that we will go in the summer!My freinds and I can't wait till that time come! Thank u!

It is far and away the best conserved example of early Spanish colonial construction in Santo Domingo. It is also a popular place of worship and is peaceful out of service hours. Well worth a visit whatever your personal creed.

It is absolutely beautiful! It was also amazing to see how well crafted it is, and how much detail was put into it, especially considering when it was built!
