This small lake between the Old Quarter and the French Quarter is central to Hanoian folklore. A ghostly shrine (the Turtle Pagoda) standing on an islet at its center pays homage to a golden turtle. In the 15th century, this heroic reptile is said to have returned a magic sword to its home in the lake after it had been taken. These days, the ...

Hoan Kiem Lake is located at the heart of Hanoi. It's the symbol of the city and also the symbol of home for any Hanoian oversea. I have a picture of Hoan Kiem Lake on my world in the U.S. Every time I look at the picture I feel really homesick. It's a charming sight itself. It makes me think of my childhood and all the good old days. ...

During the day I'd go around taking pictures and coincidently found a photography club with almost all English speaking members.

I think at night this place ...

Only few times passed, but really I found that it is a good place for you to enjoy. Especially in the evening or early morning, let's imagine that you are enjoying a thin fog of the lake in the early morning or a gentle breeze in the late of afternoon with a cup of coffee, you will touch the feeling of tranquil soul. Why dont you try? ;)

Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam. It is one of the two entry points to the country. The first impression you will have, is that this is a chaotic city. But the longer you stay, the more you will appreciate Hanoi. To visit Hanoi, you will need around seven days. Most tourists do not stay for so long here. They stay a couple of days, visit the Old ...

About 20 members of my immediate and extended family stayed here for a week while we attended a wedding in Hanoi and the hotel was absolutely fantastic. The service was always friendly and amazingly prompt and they were happy to help us organise everything. They booked great tours, organised our train tickets for Sa Pa, as well as sending someone ...

I very like this place! The lake is a famous historical place of Hanoi capital.
Hoan Kiem Lake is the center of the city both literally and figuratively. The lake is the city's most popular strolling ground and a lovers' lane at night with couples locked in embrace on benches or parked motorbikes looking out over the placid waters, the ...
