We went here upon the recommendation of our hotel and what a great stop it was! Our kids had a blast, not only learning more about the different people, but also exploring the architecture outside. I took my kids there (9 and 14) and they loved it, especially the traditional ethnic houses. Fantastic place. Make sure to keep an eye out for all the brides. This is THE place to have wedding photos done. We saw 5 the day we were there. :)

Worth the effort to get here if interested in ethnology. Good museum shop - items are generally purchased direct from artisans, cutting out the middle men and giving the artisans a better return for their efforts.
One of the best museums I've been to anywhere

I liked this place very representative of Vietnam.
Ethnics minorities are well represented, their culture, their useful.
The organisation, managing is very professional. 54 Ethnic minorities which represent the Vietnam is a wonderful discover.

outside the museum building on the museum grounds are reconstructions of various huts of ethnic tribes that you can go inside and check out. some have decorations and instruments that you can try out. this is the most interesting part of the museum and worth checking out!
