well the place is fun and you get a free inscent, but it is pretty small and somewhat crowded sometimes, also when you go you should go to snake alley (which is really close- night market) and take a picture with a boa constrictor, look at snakes, or look at snake preservatives

gorgeous temple

i thought this temple was absolutely beautiful. watching the faithful bowing and praying clutching the sticks of incense was a worthy sight. definitely photo opportunities. the essence of Chinese Buddhist belief fills the area.
This was my favorite temple that I visited in Taipei. They hand you incense at the door to burn. I am not buddhist (or asian) and I felt very welcome. Hearing the monks chant was a surreal experience. Definitely worth checking out. Also a short walk from Snake Alley, and Herb Lane

We went during evening services, and it was like something out of a movie, crowds of people chanting and bowing in a smokey temple. Since we didn't understand what was going on, we just watched, but no one made us feel self-conscious or proselytized to us, it was very comfortable.
