Interesting. . .

The Taiwanese are very respectful of CKS. The changing of the guards takes place each day. The area around the memorial is beautifully landscaped. And you are walking distance from the Handicraft Center. The theater and music hall are in the same area and they are impressive even without going inside. Go underneath the statue to see many more interesting things abour CKS.

Wax figuare of Chiang Kai-shek is a little creepy in the recreation of his office-not bad when your prepared! The top gallery with the statue and domed ...

if you like the general (emperor wannabe), then this place is for you! but politics aside, the buildings are absolutely amazing, asthetically beautiful. i was in awe when i came out of the mtr station and the first thing i saw was this massive, beautiful, colorful Chinese architectural piece of work. I will never forget that impressive image.
It is a nice place to visit if you have time. I recently went back to Taiwan for 2 weeks and did not have time to revisit. There is just too much to do and too much to eat in Taiwan. If you plan on going for a month then perhaps you can visit the memorial. It is nothing fancy, just a nice memorial for Chiang Kai-Shek. It's one of those ...
