I have been to the Jade Market twice and have found some beautiful jewelry there. You must be picky and you must be ready to bargain with the vendors. I enjoy the searching through the hundreds of tables of items to see if you can find just what you can't live without. In the afternoon they seem to be more willing to drop prices.

Good place to buy souvenirs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/18/04
This was by far the coolest place I have been in Taipei to buy Jade and other souvenirs. But unfortunately it is kinda small. But if you want to look at flowers and plants, check out the flower market right across from the Jade market.
This is a great place to pick-up nice quality and unique local souveniers! Jewelry, flowers, furniture, home decorations, houseware.... it's got a little of everything! Most merchant's probably won't speak English, but don't be shy of bargaining! Most merchants expect you to haggle.
