It's funny I posted my nitty experience and it somehow has vanished. The food is bland, cold, and over priced. It's not comfort food, it's bad food, period. The place looks great though but the hippie book store/cafe wears off when the waitstaff ignore you, and you have to pay a %10 service charge on top. (by the way these ...
Grandma Nitti's is not only a Taipei restaurant institution, but it is a great place to network, meet up with friends you have not seen in years, learn more about the local culture and munch away on hearty dishes of fusion food.
I have found the owner Rainbow, always willing to lend a helping hand to others who ask or are referred to her for ...
Place looked great, a hangout feel. However it took 25 minutes to be served served a cold breakfast, when the place wasn't busy, our waitress never returned to clear our plates, self serve water and coffee with a 10% service charge? We would not recommend it for the hungry traveler Get real Grandma Nitti's.
This is the last place I would go for food. But if you are in Taiwan for a short time and want some a cheap taste of home assuming your from the west this is a good place. I have been there maybe 5 times in the six years that I have lived in Taiwan and each time I am extremely disappointed with the food. It is terribly bland and I can feel that ...
Grandma's has great breakfasts at a good value. Decent western style breakfasts and sandwiches at a great value in Taipei. If you like cats and dogs, this is a great place to have brunch and read a book.

The best place in Taiwan
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/12/07
Grandma Nitti's is one of the best places on earth. Heavenly, heavenly comfort food. It got us through a tough time as students in Taibei when we were suffering serious culture shock and missing green spaces!

Best memories

Walking down a narrow lane, by chance, we passed a new restaurant called "Grandma Nitti´s". It was supposed to be opened the following day. Nevertheless, ...
We stopped by Grandma Nitti's Kitchen for breakfast during a short visit in the summer of 2004. Although we enjoy Asian food and definitely enjoyed the local restaurants we visited in Taipei, it was nice to catch a more...American sort of breakfast on the 4th of July.
Although the food is nothing spectacular, it was all well-prepared. ...

A Taipei Institution

Grandma Nittis is a Taipei institution. It is Western style food, nothing fancy, but very tasty. The price is right. The setting is relaxed. I have found the service consistently good. The Rainbow, the owner, is a very sweet woman.
