I like china town in Binondo,Manila. Its good for shopping and I can buy a lot of stuff that I can't afford in other country. But My dislike is some people are very rude and a lot bad people around. I'm Filipino but I'm scared to walk there by myself.

This part of Binondo has been a Chinese enclave for centuries. Start your tour at Binondo Church, and from there head for the area bordered by Ongpin, Quentin Paredes and Gandara Streets. This area holds mooncakes and sweetmeats, lychees and oranges, strange medicines made from unmentionable animal parts, oodles of noodles, and yellow Chinese gold. You could do part of your tour in a calesa (horse-pulled rig), but settle the price first. Be sure to stop in and visit Bahay Tsinoy Museum, filled with history.

There is nothing to dislike. I was born in the Philippinese of chinese parents and frequent chinatown before I left home in 1995. I never cared about the price, since we always buy chinese food there. Scouting for hotel in chinatown for my trip back home. I was there in 2004 when my mom died but didn't do much since chinese custom dictates you don't visit ur relatives during the mourning period. Stayed there 1 week and came back.

not what i had expected
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/26/07
chinatown was a different experience, but not what i had expected. it is situated within a hight impoverished area which almost felt a little unsafe. There is not much to see there. there is a lot of gold for sale and not that many places to eat. i ate at a place which i think was called david's hot pot in which i cooked my own fresh food in broth. my friend and i enjoyed this the most out of our day in chinatown
