Right in the heart of Manila's ocean front area. most of the old fort is open to expore unguided. They have a very nice shrine to Rizal. Its wonderful to walk the walls of the fort, and look out and imagine what Manila was like back in the colonial days. Still have some old cannons over looking the Pasig river.

I don't know what to say as a young girl growing up in that place it gives me an emotional feelings. The photos I've seen in the internet was not there when I was living in that place. It reminds me the past and thank you very much for putting those photos in the internet
If you visit Intramuros, be sure to visit Fort Santiago and see the Rizal Museum there. Also be sure to see the very impressive San Augustin Cathedral, which is one of the oldest churches in the country, and which used to be a monastery. This is well worth the 75 pesos that it costs to get in to the church. The Manila Cathedral, also well worth a look, is free admission, and frequently holding Mass.

Amazing part of town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/07
Intramuros was definately one of the highlights of my trip. So rich in history but yet kept up very well. Visited this area several times while I spent 4 months there for work. Great shopping as well right outside the front entrance and it's just for tourists with mostly native Filipino items.
