My first thought is for Chinese people to go and pray..But it seems different when we can write our name at the piece of roof top and just Donate RM30 for it.Then when the statue is finished, u may see ur name up to the roof!

    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/01/08
This is a buddhist temple that built on a small hill. This temple is large and also very beautiful. I hope that I can go there again. This is the best thing in the Penang island!

  • Serene site

A serene temple with pagoda and a large attractive Bodhisatva statue. Roof structures of the buildings adds up to the beauty with blending bright colours in the shades so soothing. Delightful Buddisht devotional songs can be heard in the background when approaching the souvenir and ornament shopes. It helped to calm the mind.

  • The Excellence of art......
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/21/07
After visiting the Kek Lok See I thought of a quotation by John Keats which I felt expressed my feelings during and after the visit...."The excellance of every art is its intensity, capable of making all disagreeables evaporate, from being in close reationship with Beauty and Truth" Bravo! to all involved in the HUGE Project. I wish you well...Eddy Boehm

  • Fabulous!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/05
One of the largest and finiest Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia. This temple is a must to those visiting Penang and Malaysia.

One of the most historical landmark in the temple is the "Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas", built in the early 1900's. You can walk up the Pagoda and be amazed with the architecture and the view from the top of the Pagoda.

Serene, eye-opening and wonderful! Would recommend this to anyone!
