Worth a visit to see the snakesLovely view of the island and an interesting trip up on the railway. The hotel had a hot pot restaurant [this was 2004] and the food is good. Afterwards sit on the verandah and look up..when we were there the canopy had several vipers in there which the hotel tolerated because they keep rodnts down. Penang Hill SchoolAs with a previous reviewer, I too went to the school when it was on the hill from around 1967 to 1974. It was a wonderful time, the journey to the school on the train up the hill.. having already travelled on two plane journies to Penang from Borneo where I lived. Amazing view, refreshing fresh air.Somewhere in May, I had came to know an elderly Japanese tourist. He had come to Malaysia and was wondering a shopping complex that I was also happen to be in. He stopped me for directions.

Super experianceWhat an excitment it develops when you begins to ascend on a straight rail track. Within a few minutes it opens out a vista with a beutiful city landscape and the sea beyond. The peace of it allWe visited Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera) twice on our recent holiday in Penang (March 2007).We find that the walk around top estate (2 miles) is long enough in that heat, but truly inspirational because of the varying views and being in the jungle.
