I just saw a patient in the ER that was bit by a monkey. she is now being treated for rabies and Hepres type B (rare type of Herpes) I don't know if it is worth it, but I have not been there myself.

This place is great its cool walking through the forest, But hold on to everything you have The monkeys tend to want whats attached to your body. Cameras pocketbooks glasses food hats and all else that they can grab They are cute to look at but do you want to chase a monkey up a tree when he just snatched your camera HOLD ON TIGHT

Fun experience, but keep alert
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/24/07
The Monkey Forest Sanctuary is conveniently located within walking distance of most hotels in Ubud, the cultural center of Bali. It's not very big; an hour or so should be enough for you to explore it. It is a great place for photos. Besides the monkeys, there is a small temple and another shrine there as well as the forest itself to see and ...

Sangeh
By dkg, 03/21/07
The Monkey Forest Sangeh is nearly 20-25 km from Denpasar.Inside of the forest,in the middle there is Pura Bukit Sari temple. Be aware when you walk, monkeys are attracted to shiny objects, jewelery and cameras. You can take their photos, can feed them,or let them eat the fruit on your shoulders after paying the staff some money. If you're in Bali, don't end the vacation without visiting Monkey Forest Sangeh.

More fun than a barrel of .....
By Charley, 11/16/06
This place was a riot! Just make sure that you keep you valuables secure... the monkeys are expert at unbuttoning, unzipping, and otherwise rifling through your pockets in search of something edible or shinny. And they don't mind jumping on you and perching on your head and shoulders (much to the general distress of my girlfriend.)

Ok if you want monkeys
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/07/06
The monkey forest is a lame tourist trap at best.
Granted, you will definitely see monkeys and if that's what you're about... great.
Our tour bus stopped along side the road for about 10 minutes and it was 10 minutes too long. Don't know if there's an official "Monkey Forest" entrance, but if that was it, it's ...
