Best place to view the Great Wall

I loved the fact that Simatai was not filled with tourists. The hike to the wall and up the wall was great. The sights are breathtaking and you fell inner peace. There was a zipline down that was a great end of the adventure. Can't wait to go back.

Spectacular Simatai

Many visitors to Beijing go on tours to see the Great Wall at nearby Badaling. Personally, I feel this is a huge mistake. Here, the wall has been fully restored, and while amazing, is not nearly as spectacular as Simatai. It takes about 2 hours to reach the Great Wall at Simatai, but it is well worth the trip.
