  • Wonderful Attraction!!
    By LJones72, 08/21/08
I thoroughly enjoyed this boat tour through a papyrus swamp. The reenactment of Pharonic times was spot on with its good actors. My kids loved it and wanted to go back during our two week visit of Egypt but we didn't have enough time.

The concept for this attraction is good, but execution is very poor.

For a start, the entrance fee is very expensive, and the "attractions" are all very jaded, with attempts to squeeze more money out of you at every turn. Attempts to recreate Karnak were pathetic. The whole place needs a massive revamp.

  • Interesting but very overpriced!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/06/07
We went to the Pharaonic village with 5 children aged 3-9 yrs. The village was interesting and the children enjoyed it. It cost us LE450 (about £45) for the chepest tour (which was for 2 adults and one child as the smaller ones were free). I thought was VERY overpriced for what you get - especially by egyptian standard as everything else is so cheap. A nice place to visit but not worth the money.

  • Terrible waste of time and money
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/07
this place has really gone down hill. i've been several times in the past...as recently as 2005...but when i went with my teenage kids in summer 2007, it was TERRIBLE. hot, miserable, boring, unenthusiastic staff, ridiculously high entrance fee (around LE600 for four people)...and the shameless money grab all through out the the tour.

  • Fantastic for old and young!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/19/07
Having toured many sites in Cairo this was our last stop and I wish we went here first. The script was well-written and made far more sense than a number of our guides at other sites. It is superb for both children and adults. Staff and actors / actresses were wonderful, polite and knowledgeable. There was absolutely nothing to fault. Even the shop was priced so you have a break from bartering!

  • Waste of time

I suppose if you only have a few days in Egypt, and don't plan on seeing ANYTHING in Egypt, you can take this elementary history tour. It's an interesting concept -- kind of like Williamsburg here in the US. They set up different scenes of Egypt while you ride this boat around, and they talk about life in Egypt at a VERY BASIC LEVEL. Good ...
