On a quite street in Lima is an archealogical treasure. The museum is a tribute to one mans desire to preserve a countries heritage. The museum is impecably put together as a labor of love. Mr Poli and his son truly love and enjoy their collections. They want their visitors to feel just the same. It was a privilege to view this incredible and ...

Poli Collection
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/06
Well worth it just to listen to the elder Mr Poli talk and discuss (one sided) his views on the collection, the Catholic Church, Spaniards (invaders, not conquistadors), the ancient peoples of the area, and humanity in general. He doesn't speak English and one must have an excellent translator to get full value. The collection is superb and ...

Enrico Poli an experience

This is a truly spectacular museum.... ask no questions as to how the exhibits were collected. See items in National geographic then view the items right there! Marvelous but where to they come from?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/05
Enrico Poli's Museum (basically his house) holds his marvelous collection of colonial and precolumbian works of art. The paintings and sculptures are sensational, as well ...

DO NOT MISS THIS WHILE IN LIMA
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/23/05
I gave the Poli 5 stars because it is just that. A 5 star museum of the most astounding and beautiful arts, treasuers and antiquities in South America but more importantly Mr Poli who guides visitors makes the story of their collections deeply understood and appreciated :-)

The Gold of The Sipan
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/21/05
This unassuming home in what would appear to be a middle class neighborhood in Lima houses one of the most incredible collections of Peruvian, Incan, Quechuan art and pre-Columbian art you will ever lay eyes on. The home is gracious as are the hosts who will show you their private collection. It is well worth the entry fee and difficulty in arranging a viewing.
