My wife is from Peru (Lince District in Lima) and I am headed down there for the fifth time in December, for a three-week stay. Miraflores is definitely one of the cleaner and safer areas in Lima. If you don't like seeing poor, crowded, dirty places, stay within Miraflores. Miraflores has nice restaurants, malls, nice parks, and a gorgeous ...
I had the opportunity to spend 2 weeks in Miraflores recently studying Spanish at a great little school called El Sol. First of all, the school was wonderful and I really enjoyed my classes and teachers. I rented a small apartment, which was cheaper than staying in a hotel, which gave me a kitchen (for breakfast) and a small living room and a ...
I felt very safe in Miraflores. I loved the shopping, restaurants and parks. I even got a manicure for $3.00! It's a really nice part of Lima to stay in.

Nice

I think that term 'nice' covers Miraflores. It is one of the better parts of Lima, but does not have much special things to offer, apart from some nice small parks, reastaurants and a novel modern shopping center. There are better parts of Lima, but also much worse, and Miraflores definitely has a safe feeling to it.

Miraflores is a gem by the sea
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/12/06
Miraflores is an area of Lima worthy of exploration. Excellent dining, great shopping and a very tourist-friendly part of Lima.
The nightlife is hopping and during the day one can easily reach a wide variety of museums and cultural sites.
There is even a pretty nice concrete skatepark on the way from the airport so bring your board.

Mi Miraflores Querido "My Dear Miraflores"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/09/05
I think is one of the best places to walk to restaurants, shops and the many beautiful parks full of flowers and green areas. The people are friendly and there is less traffic than other areas. Miraflores has it's own history and you can get tours to the different sites. You can find restaurants at short walking distance. I really like it!

we toured downtown lima but stayed in miraflores for the night. definitely preferable - not as polluted or crowded. we felt quite safe. there are a lot of well-priced hotel options.

My favorite part of Lima
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/22/05
The most tourist friendly neighborhood in Peru, Miraflores is home to good hotels, restaurants, shopping and nightlife. It is located about fifteen miles south of Jorge Chavez International Airport.
