I visited this lovely museum while I was in Peru. I loved this museum so much that I feel obligated to share how great it is with anyone and everyone traveling to Peru.
If you are in Lima, you must visit this museum. It's full of Gold, silver, jewelry, and lots and lots of pottery. You can get lost in the storage deposits of the museum, which ...
I just got back home from a trip to Peru. On my last day, I was stuck in Lima till midnight, waiting for my flight back to the U.S.
Someone had recommended that I check out the Museo Larco´s erotic pottery collection. It sounded interesting, but i didn´t expect to be so blown away. It´s really something to see.
I just got back from the MUSEO Larco. Many of my traveling buddies recommend this place, but i wasn't convinced it was as incredible as they made it seem. I also saw a lot of people recommend it online, so i decided to check it out for myself.
Im not really into museums, but this place is awesome!!!
They have so much to see, but it's not ...

The best museum in Lima!
By annielituma, 08/01/08
You will probably get to Peru thinking that you will learn everything about the Inca Culture travelling to Cusco and Machu Picchu, but if you don´t get a good brief about all precolumbian cultures at Museo Larco, you will never learn that incas lived only 200 hundred years before the Spanish came to Peru. Peru is so much more! For me Larco ...
The museum is very nice, clean, with friendly staff. They have on of LIma's nicest restaurants, serving contemporary traditional Peruvian cuisine, beer, Pisco sours, and gourmet coffee.
The coolest part of the museum is their exhibit on pre-historic erotica ceramic's and the storage room that is open to the public. It's really worth visiting.
My favorite museum in LIMA!!!!

Absoluteley amazing collection. The other reviewers are entirely correct in their enthusiasm. We had an external guide (from Lindblad, or Lima Tours) who added much to our visit. The ethnic and racial diversity of the faces on the mugs in the storage room will blow your mind.

A must-see museum
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/06
You cannot visit Lima without going to Museo Larco. It is a vice royal mansion on top of a Pre-Columbian pyramid. The gardens and buganvillas are a dream. The exhibition is didactic and the Gold hall is spectacular. You shouldn
This museum was a real surprise and a must see. It has a extensive collection of pottery from all the past cultures of Peru and they are just amazing. Many of the pots are in the form of people, birds and animals and all are fascinating. I was blown away by the way they let you walk through the storage rooms just crammed floor to ceiling with the ...
