By all means, take a 2 or 4 day hike to Machu Piccu, just don't do it with United Mice; unless you like being not properly prepared, abandoned, and having your train tickets sold. A huge blight on what was a magnificent experience...

I would highly recommend a visit to Machu Picchu as it is one of the seven wonders of the world. Additionally if you have time in Peru also visit Ica and the Nazca area and lines.

There is so much to visit and recommend in Peru, maybe there is no space. The region comprised ecological tourism zones like Northern Chile ( San Pedro de Atacama, Arica, Lauca National Park, Salar de Surire), Bolivia

I did the 4 day hike with SAS travels. It was a breathtaking experiece and one that I will always remember. Some tips, make sure you go with a reputed company like SAS, book directly dont use agents. Make sure you spend some time in cusco, to get acclamatised and it is also a great town. Please be curtious to the porters and tip them well. THey make very little money for all the hard work they do

The day we went the train employees were on strike. So, only those who hiked were able to visit that day. I recommend that if you are healthy that you hike. The arrival through the sun gate is amazing and you feel like you deserve such spendor after 2 days of hiking!

Machu Picchu is one of those rare expeditions that everyone should do atleast once in their lifetime. The grand structures built by the incas along with the beauty of the andes makes this trek one of the most liked treks in the world. If you are up for it, do the 4 day trek with any of the reputed tour companies from Cusco, if not atleast take a train to this magnificient ruins.

Have been to Cusco twice. Went to Machu Picchu in 2003. That large peak you see behind MP is worth the effort. The view of MP from there will be a highlight. The peak looks menacing but there is a wire rope going up most of the trail. My second trip to Cusco last October I went to Choquoquira. Many outfitters will help organize this hike 4-5 days depending on which outfitter.

Peru is an awesome country with lots of culture, history and GREAT FOOD! nice people and so much fun. it was the best time of my life!!! machu picchu is beautiful. I highly recommend it.

I loved the view of course. You must do the 1-hr+ hike up Wayna Pichu, the view is worth it. Bring lots of water, but keep your hands free to hold on. We saw a newborn llama, it was very exciting. Can't wait to return.
