It was the 35th birthday of one of my friends (his wife and I attend the same church), and so, upon my suggestion, we went to a restaurant called Mare Nostrum in Providencia. Great fun, friendly and clean hotel, strongly recommend. Minor point, keep the bathroom soap stocks up as they did run low. hotel is near the disco and centre. Staff is nice and helpful and friendly. I come back here next year.

This place has charm - lots of it! The decor is medieval, and well done. The menu is seafood driven. Wines (as with most South America) are Chilean and Argentian based. Very expensive place and the food aint the greatest around. There are better restaurants for seafood in the city, unfortunately this aint one of them.

Excelent Food, Prices can be considered high but it is actually cheaper than the TGI Fridays in Ecuador. It has hands down the best seafood in Ecuador
