I love Barra. Now I am living in Texas, but I love Barra: wonderful beaches, nice restaurants and malls (Barrashopping and nearby Fashion Mall in Sao Conrado). Walk on the sidewalk as everybody else (they, Brazilian and turists do in all the beaces).
Barra has nices hotels, with good prices ( they have expensive too), and, in Brazil all hotels inlclude a very nice breakfast.

it is a lovely place. And it is a excellent place to stay. I like the food, and the beach is lovely. Blah blah blah, you get the idea...

I spent 8 days in Barra with more of a local experience and loved it. I didn't stay at a hotel or visit many of the tourist sites but still had a blast. Anything from enjoying the food, walking along the beach, training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or climbing Pedra da Gavea. As soon as I left I began trying to plan for another trip back.

Barra da Tijuca was briliant i am definatly going to go there next year! where wewere staying had great entertainment and all the locals were very friendly a family even invited us to have dinner at there house! They cooked beutiful food! i strongly reccomend going there! It was great
